The situation
Door-drop expertise, made self-serve
Whistl's DoorDrop Media business has long run leaflet and sampling campaigns for brands, delivered through partners including Royal Mail. Whistl saw a chance to let businesses plan and book a campaign themselves, online, with the same reach and targeting. That product became Leafletdrop.

What needed to change
A new product, simple enough for anyone to use
Customers would be ordering without an agency or an account manager, so a campaign had to be simple to set up from start to finish, with targeting that set it apart. And it had to be secure, compliant and easy for Whistl's own team to run.

What we did
From prototype to an operational targeting tool
We turned the discovery work into user journeys, a content structure and detailed prototypes, then designed the product around its standout feature. Customers pick postcode sectors directly on a map, and see household types and income data for each area.
We built it in two parts: Concrete CMS for the marketing site, and a bespoke application on Symfony, with a React front end, for the campaign tools. The platform generates the files Royal Mail needs, so orders flow straight into operations, and volume breakpoints in the pricing reward bigger campaigns.

What changed
A new revenue stream, still growing
In the six months after launch, orders rose 34% and revenue 31.3%. We've kept improving the platform since, and ongoing optimisation raised average monthly active users by 15%.

What the client says
-
Whistl has aggressive targets for growth, and we're confident our ongoing partnership with Rawnet will be beneficial as we continue to build upon our previous successes with them. The results of the new site show that the initial discovery phase was imperative.
