My Rawnet Career: Working Mum Edition

Tracy Lo
Tracy Lo Project Account Manager | Account Management

What were you doing before you joined Rawnet?

Before joining Rawnet, I was working client side within digital marketing in the construction industry. It was a job that allowed me to work on big exciting projects. However, there wasn’t any flexibility in my working hours or the opportunity to work anywhere, which made it tough being a new mum trying to juggle work, childcare and nursery pick up.

What made you want to join Rawnet?

From the initial interview, I instantly knew that the people were one of the main reasons to join, everyone was super knowledgeable and supportive of their teams and the business as a whole. The role was much closer to where I lived at the time and they offered a work from home and flexible hours option which just was a no brainer with my little one. I was able to get back into building my career without sacrificing family time.

Your Rawnet Journey

I originally joined Rawnet as a full time Account Manager and it was the first time I was able to use flexible working hours which was just what I needed. As time went on I could see how the business supported different members of the team by enabling them to go part-time to help balance being a working mum, so I simply asked and was able to go down to 4 days a week!

I then went on maternity leave for my second little one and when the time came I chose to come back as a Project Account Manager. I knew how the company operated and being a PAM was much more suited to my strengths and nature, it also allowed me to come back on a 3 day flexible working basis! I have not yet been back a year and already I have progressed in my career and new role. I’m learning lots of new skills which in turn is building my confidence.

How has Rawnet compared to your expectations?

It is amazing to work with so many people that are passionate about what they do and to be surrounded by knowledgeable people, who really work together to get the job done.

Management is completely trusting that you will get the job done meaning no micromanagement at all which allows me to learn and explore more outside of my job role!

Having ideas that are heard and actually implemented is amazing and shows that the work you do makes a real difference to my team and the company. While being part time, Rawnet still heavily invests in me and my role to help me grow and progress in my career and future!
